John 14:2-3

February 21, 2019

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ at Hilltop Bible Fellowship,

Today, we gather to reflect on the hope and promise of the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In John 14:2-3, Jesus comforted His disciples saying, "In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." These words serve as a reminder that our Savior's departure was not an end, but rather the beginning of an eternal journey that will ultimately lead to His glorious return.

As we eagerly anticipate Christ's return, let us not be idle, but instead remain diligent in our faith, striving to be the light in a world that is often darkened by despair and uncertainty. In 1 Thessalonians 5:4-6, Paul exhorts us, "But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober." We are called to live with a spirit of readiness, sharing the Good News of the Gospel and demonstrating the love of Christ through our actions, so that when He returns, we may be found faithful and prepared to meet Him. May the hope of our Lord's Second Coming strengthen and encourage us as we continue our walk with Him.

Amen.
